Blears Blocks Boris

Good news. A few weeks ago I posted on Mayor Boris caving in to his “pals” in Tory Council Hammersmith & Fulham. Despite the objections of his professional GLA planners, Boris gave permission for a major housing scheme to be built with no social housing in it.

Many fear that the Tories are gerrymandering and trying to stop social housing being built in the Councils they control.

Now Communities Secretary Minister Hazel Blears has intervened by ordering Hammersmith & Fulham Council to withdraw permission while she considers what can be done.

Fingers crossed!

What was it Private Eye called her.."that stupid woman that Charles clarke left in charge whilst he was sunning himself on holiday!" I wonder if Boris wil remember how she campaigned against Hospital closures in her own constituency despite the fact that the closures were her Governments' own policy and she had been Under Secretery for Healh? Hypocrisy? You decide. She also lost a computer with a load of confidential information on it - that should never have been in her office - incompetent as well!

Hi Anon 2

Obviously capable strong women scare you lots!

I think you will find that local hospital provision is decided locally not nationally. Thanks to Labour.

I think you will find that Hazel did not lose a computer - a laptop was stolen from her office. or don't you know there is a difference?

Yeah that's right...it was stolen from her office witha load of confidential information on it. She broke the rules on taking it outside her department.

Actually it appears to be a PC and that a civil servant broke the rules not Hazel.
