Housing Matters

What happy times we live in... 22 Housing Associations are in “dire straights” according to a report by “housing guru”, Tony Pidgley, the chairman of Berkeley Group.

Genesis Housing is in hock to London & Quadrant (L&Q) for £20 million soon after losing their finance director. It’s a back-up facility only - which has not been drawn - apparently.

Major builder Taylor Wimpey has laid off its entire affordable housing team.

It is nice to know that the directors of private house builders Bellway have awarded themselves massive bonuses despite a “dire” (it’s that word again) business year.

Thanks to the Inside Housing site.
