UNISON General Secretary Election latest

I received this email today. “Just to let you know that the UNISON Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Council overwhelmingly voted to nominate Dave Prentis as candidate in the General Secretary election.

Paul Holmes who is also seeking nomination and was at the meeting but not in the room at the time also failed later to even get onto the Regional Committee in the General seat elections. He came 16th out of 19 candidates and failed to make any of the 12 seats available.

So some potential General Secretaries can't even get elected to their own Regional Committee never mind nominated!!!”

It’s also good to know that practically the only support for Paul comes from Socialist Worker Party (winning witch hunters faction), Permanent Revolution (ex-posh boys and girls only), the Marxist Voice of Labour and Youth (Saga branch), Jon of the Rogers (trot entryist), Socialist Appeal (please...please can we have a revolution) and Union Futures (for wannabe entryist trots).

Looks like the Untied Left have backed a winner again.

Actually it looks like the UUL can't even be arsed to put any effort in! Whoever is organising their campaigning ought to be sacked immediately. What an utterly hopeless shower of incompetents!

Is Mr Holmes certain that Bob Dylan said "Good artists borrow and great artists steal"? If he ever did it was a theft itself from Picasso or TS Eliot!

With facts like that, who needs a decent campaign manager?

Perhaps they can now employ a consultant to show them how it is done !

BTW who is the lambeth Militants (youth wing backing ?

Graham

Come on, Marsha - why can't your chosen candidate even quote his heroes correctly?

And as a campaign manager you certainly make a good hatstand.

Hey Graham mate, I hear the lambeth militants are having their gatherings in the Brixton office now and boasting about it! Looks like old nick and mad jon have lost control! Hoping they will go down the toilet soon! Is it time to investigate now the other 4 clowns have gone down? Get on with it mr national!

Hi John

I am over in Unite, I have posted a comment before ref our problems with the "trots" on your site. Before your GS election started a postive post with reference to Dave was posted at http://unitegselection.wordpress.com/2009/11/16/beyond-crisis/ it linked him to a video...

since then we have offered support via his website i.e the distribution of material if needed.
We have had an incoming link from "jons" blog he is supporting Holmes.

If you run any posts in reply to his on our election a postive mention of Paul and a link would be appreciated. Good luck in your GS election.
